Pretty Timezones is a macOS menu bar app that helps you compare times across multiple timezones. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

Pretty Timezones collects minimal data necessary to function:

  • -Timezone preferences: Your selected timezones are stored locally on your device using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your computer.
  • -App settings: Preferences such as launch-at-login and haptic feedback settings are stored locally on your device.
  • -License key (direct purchase only): If you purchased directly from our website, your license key and associated email are stored locally and validated against our server. App Store purchases do not require license validation.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • -We do not collect analytics or usage data
  • -We do not track your location
  • -We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
  • -We do not share any data with third parties
  • -We do not collect personal information beyond what is described above

Network Requests

The direct-purchase version of Pretty Timezones makes a single network request to validate your license key upon activation. The App Store version makes no network requests. Neither version phones home, sends telemetry, or checks for analytics.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. No data is stored on external servers. Your timezone selections and preferences remain entirely on your device.

Third-Party Services

We use Stripe to process payments on our website. Stripe's privacy policy can be found at stripe.com/privacy. App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple.

Children's Privacy

Pretty Timezones does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
